EMADOX® L4

•  EMADOX®L4 is specifically designed to protect ferrous metals (iron, cast iron, steels), galvanized steels and aluminum in contact with water based formulations. 

• EMADOX®L4 is a ready to use aqueous solution based on organic corrosion inhibitor salts in combination with sodium nitrite. 

• EMADOX®L4 is VOC* free. 

 EMADOX®L4 is frost sensitive. It must be kept at temperature above 0°C. 

It is recommended to use EMADOX®L4 within 2 years following its manufacture (see the expiration date on the label). 

•  EMADOX®L4 is mainly recommended for: 

  • flash-rust protection of water based formulations based on acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane dispersions or emulsions. 

  • in-can protection for metal packaging filled with above products 

    EMADOX®L4 must be added preferentially in the letdown, before the rheological agents. 

    The use in post-addition is also a possible option. 

 The use levels are: 

• typically, from 0.2 to 1% based on the total weight
• exceptionally, for sensitive metal substrates, 1.5 to 2% based on the total weight 

There is no advantage to use higher levels. On the contrary, a too high dosage can increase the water sensitivity of the dry film.
