Since their creation, Laboratoires LABEMA® have developed with respect for the environment. We combine innovation and sustainability to offer effective and ecological solutions.

Labema has developed additives specially designed to meet your needs for corrosion protection.

Our Essential Goals in Sustainable Chemistry:

  • Reduce the environmental impact of processes and products
  • Minimize waste
  • Optimize the use of finite resources -> By relying on bio-based raw materials, the VEGERUST® range aligns with the goal of optimizing the use of fossil carbon.

Reduced Water Consumption:

Every year, 44 m³ of water are saved: by dedicating a manufacturing tank and a transfer pump to the 9 products manufactured in the highest volume, we are able to eliminate rinsing between each production. Additionally, we use rainwater for cooling exothermic processes.

Chimie-durable-4

Low Energy Consumption:

Our activity requires no external energy input. We efficiently use the heat generated by the chemical reactions themselves to power our processes. This allows us not only to reduce our dependence on external energy sources, but also to minimize our carbon footprint.

Chimie-durable-5

No Wastewater Discharges:

Thanks to the use of dedicated tanks and pumps for the main products, we have eliminated the need to rinse equipment between each production batch. This means we no longer have wastewater discharges from rinsing operations. This practice allows us to make significant water savings, with 22 m³ of rinsing water saved each year.

Selective Sorting:

Industrial waste, plastic, wood, and metal are separated and entrusted to approved professionals. Thanks to our practice of reusing IBCs, we limit the amount of packaging to be destroyed or recycled. We reuse approximately 80 IBCs per year, which represents more than 11 tonnes of CO2 not emitted compared to the use of new IBCs.

The VEGERUST® Range

The VEGERUST® corrosion inhibitors combine plant-based and fossil raw materials: the carbon present in VEGERUST® is partially bio-based.

The bio-sourced carbon is mainly supplied by a plant that is not usable for human or animal consumption.

Reduced carbon footprint and improved CO2 balance compared to traditional products

The bio-based carbon content is measured by the reliable analysis of carbon-14

Practical guide to environmental claims

Bio-based means “derived from biomass.” The “bio-based” claim refers to a product, substance, or material that is entirely or partially made from biomass (plant or animal), excluding fossilized materials such as petroleum or coal. It is essential to characterize the amount of biomass contained in the product through its bio-based content or bio-based carbon content.
